Introduction

Waste is a source of distress for those responsible of environmental and local management in cities and municipalities, as for its environmental and health risks it involves, and also for its direct  relationship with the health of human beings and domestic animals.

The speedy urbanization witnessed in Arab cities was accompanied by huge amounts of various sorts of waste, especially hazardous medical and industrial waste;  all of which require new methods and techniques for their management.
