GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF RESEARCH PAPERS

 

 

 

The public sector institutions in advanced and developing countries started adopting the concepts of electronic systems in performing their daily activities and in providing better services for citizens.  This concept was further promoted when these institutions provided these services through the internet to the individuals, government departments  and the private sector.

 

 The information technology has great influence over the way people work, go shopping or communicate.  This requires rectified  interaction between citizens and local government departments.

 

As the public sector departments seek capacity enhancement to fulfill their duties and interact with the global economy which is linked through the internet, utilization of the information technology proved essential at all walks of life and thus many countries decided upon adopting the idea of “E- Government” aiming to fulfill  duties or provide services to citizens, more promptly and  efficiently.

 

 

  OBJECTIVES

 

  •  To shed light on the concept of providing  services through electronic portals, its applications and how to utilize electronic means to develop and enhance access to services and information.
  • To explore the difficulties and challenges hindering the application of e- government concept.
  • To determine the practical procedures that should be carried out to implement e-Government.
  • To examine the efforts exerted by Arab cities and to review the experiences of other cities in the field of e-Government.

  CALL FOR PAPERS

 

Abstracts are solicited from interested parties both from the region and elsewhere. Abstracts should not e

exceed 300 words briefly summarizing the paper’s major components, methodology and findings as well as the subject's implications for the conference theme. 

Authors selected by the Conference Technical Committee based on their abstracts are requested to submit their full papers by the specific date listed below.  Papers should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages including references and figures. Selected authors are kindly requested to mail a hard copy of their paper, they could also transmit it electronically or send a soft copy on a floppy disk which operates under Windows (IBM compatible).  Colored figures/pictures are preferred to be sent digitally as JPG files.
