Abu Dhabi to host global city forum

Gulf News   April 29, 2008   By Ahmed A. Elewa - Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED) on Monday announced a partnership with Reed Exhibitions to host the Global City Forum in Abu Dhabi in January 2009.

The forum focuses on sustainable development , and will host 240 cities from 43 countries, 63 per cent of which are representing the private sector, in addition to more than 100 city mayors and elected officials.

The forum represents a networking platform for networking and exchange of ideas and strategies related to sustainable urban development, providing for a gateway to show the world Abu Dhabi plans and achievements, and to observe the latest trends, technologies, and method applied in the field of sustainable development.

 

Participants at the event will include private sector entities, mayors, organisations, lectures and workshops aiming to benefit the UAE and the region as a whole.
