call for papers
The Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI) and the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) in collaboration with Shah Alam City Council, and the Municipality of Al-Medina Al-Munawarah, is organizing the 2nd international symposium on “Knowledge Cities: The Future of Cities in the Knowledge Economy”. The symposium will be held in Shah Alam city - Malaysia during 9-11th July 2007.
The symposium is intended to raise the awareness of mayors and senior officials in concerned agencies about key knowledge Cities issues, and to find out the applicable steps needed for transition into Knowledge-based Economy. It is also intended to highlight key challenges and difficulties faces cities in their endeavor to depend on Knowledge-based Economy, and to share knowledge and best practices among participants.
The scientific committee invites the experts, researchers and specialized persons to actively participate in this symposium by submitting their abstracts of papers and experiences, in coherence to the attached model. The abstract should not exceed two (A4 size) pages. All abstracts received by the committee will be assessed according to the scientific criteria of AUDI.
